About Projex
Projex offers architectural design and construction project management services for custom homes, cottages, and renovations in the Ottawa area. The company was founded in 2009 by Mike James, but before starting up Projex Mike spent 10 years working for one of Canada’s oldest and most respected engineered home builders. With a degree in Architectural Technology, Mike began his career there as a custom home designer, and eventually became Vice President before leaving in 2008 having built over 200 custom homes and cottages in just under 10 years. Mike's primary role as VP was to manage the company's design and construction staff, however he also became a huge supporter of energy efficient construction including ENERGY STAR, R2000 and EnviroHome performance levels. That commitment to providing energy efficient housing led to the company being recognized by the CMHC, CHBA, and Mike Holmes for a National Healthy Housing award in 2007. In 2008, the company was sold and Mike went on to create Projex. Initially, Projex offered our design and project management services to other builders in the Ottawa area working as a subcontractor. Projex now offers the same fully customized services directly to the homeowner . By eliminating the General Contractor mark up and providing a competitive bidding process for the entire project, our clients receive maximum value without sacrificing any quality whatsoever. Using the contacts and experience gained over the past 16 years, Projex has developed a formula for construction project management that eliminates risk and exposes all construction costs to give the homeowner complete control of their project, with an experienced professional right at their side every step of the way.
Mike lives in Almonte, Ontario with his wife and two sons where he is heavily involved in youth sports as a coach for several local associations.
